Privacy & data usage

BANKTRUST is software for bookkeeping and accounting workflows. We are not a bank, financial institution, accounting firm, or tax advisor. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, how we protect integration access, and how you can request deletion.

What BANKTRUST does

BANKTRUST helps users convert bank statement documents into reviewable bookkeeping outputs such as CSV, QuickBooks-ready, and Xero-ready exports. The product is designed around reconciliation, review, and workflow accuracy before data is used in accounting systems.

Information we collect

  • Account information – if you create an account, we store basic details needed to authenticate you, operate your workspace, and provide support.
  • Uploaded statement data – if you upload bank statements or related files, we process those files and store extracted transaction data, reconciliation results, review status, and export-related records needed to provide the product.
  • Client and workflow records – if you create clients, statements, mappings, notes, or review records inside BANKTRUST, we store that information so your workflow can be restored and audited.
  • Accounting connection data – if you connect BANKTRUST to an accounting platform such as QuickBooks Online, we store limited connection metadata needed to provide the integration. This includes connection status, company name, account mappings, provider identifiers, and token expiry status.
  • Billing information – if billing is enabled for your account, payment and subscription processing may be handled by our payment provider. BANKTRUST does not store full card numbers.
  • Support and communication data – if you contact us, we may keep your message, email address, and related context so we can respond and troubleshoot.
  • Usage and analytics data – we use product and website analytics to understand usage patterns, improve reliability, and make the product easier to use.

Accounting integrations

When you connect an accounting integration such as QuickBooks Online, BANKTRUST uses that connection only to support the accounting workflow you request. Access and refresh tokens are stored in server-side secret storage and are not displayed in the browser. You can disconnect QuickBooks from your accounting settings, and you can contact support if you need help removing connection-related data.

BANKTRUST provides accounting workflow features including exports, connection management, account mapping, posting previews, and posting workflows. You are responsible for reviewing outputs, mappings, previews, exports, and accounting-system activity before relying on them.

How we use your information

  • To authenticate users and operate the BANKTRUST product.
  • To process uploaded statements and produce reviewable outputs.
  • To calculate reconciliation, variance, trust, and review signals.
  • To provide exports and accounting workflow features.
  • To provide support, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability.
  • To secure the service, prevent abuse, and enforce our terms.
  • To understand product usage and improve the user experience.

Where your data is stored and processed

  • The BANKTRUST web app and landing pages are hosted on Vercel.
  • Application data is stored in Supabase, including database records and related application storage.
  • Billing and subscription processing may be handled by Stripe.
  • Website and product analytics may be processed by tools such as Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, or similar analytics services used by BANKTRUST.
  • Accounting integrations involve third-party platforms such as QuickBooks Online when you choose to connect them.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell customer data to third parties.
  • We do not use BANKTRUST customer data for targeted advertising.
  • We do not ingest customer bank statement contents into public AI models.
  • We do not display accounting access tokens, refresh tokens, or client secrets in the browser.

Retention and deletion

We keep data for as long as reasonably necessary to operate BANKTRUST, provide the product, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms.

Uploaded statement files may be retained for a limited period so your team can review and recover work. Parsed statement records, exports, client records, and audit-related workflow records may remain available in your account until deleted or removed through an approved deletion request.

If you want your data deleted, contact us at support@banktrustapp.com. We will review the request and respond based on account status, legal requirements, security obligations, and operational needs.
